I achieved the National Scientific qualification as associate professor in the Italian higher education system for the disciplinary field of 01/A6 - Operations Research. Validity: 23/05/2023 - 23/05/2034.
March 2021 - Present: Researcher (Junior Tenure - RTDa) in the Group of Computational Optimization at the Department of Mathematics "Felice Casorati", University of Pavia (head of the scientific unit Prof. Stefano Gualandi). Currently involved in research projects with the following institutes and companies.
Joint Research Center of European Commission - Siviglia (JRC-SVQ): Development of a multimodal schedule-based route planner for accessibility analyses at the European scale.
Radiology Department - Policlinico San Matteo di Pavia: Designing of Machine Learning based Optimization models and methods for the CT scan scheduling.
Fedegari Autoclavi SpA: Interpretable Machine Learning techniques for troubleshooting autoclaves.
3D4Med: Development of a scheduler for in-hospital production of 3D-printed devices for medical use.
May 2014 - December 2020: Research Fellow in the Group of Operations Research and Combinatorial Optimization at the Department of Computer Science, University of Turin (supervisor Prof. Roberto Aringhieri):
July 2018 - December 2020 as a post-doc researcher ("assegnista di ricerca") for the project "Big data supporting Emergency Care imprOveMEnt (BECOME)" funded by Fondazione CRT (non-profit organization) and coordinated by Prof. Roberto Aringhieri;
November 2017 - June 2018 as a research fellow ("borsista di ricerca") for the project "Online optimization methods applied to urgent and emergency health systems" self-funded by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin, within the research project "Fundamentals, Methodologies and Applications of Informatics - Models and Algorithms to Support Decisions (MALGRADO)" coordinated by Prof. Luca Console;
November 2014 - October 2018 as Ph.D candidate in Computer Science with the thesis project "Online optimization methods applied to the management of health services"; in this period I started a project in collaboration with the Emergency Department of Ospedale "Sant'Antonio Abate" di Cantù;
May 2014 - October 2014 as a research fellow ("borsista di ricerca") for the project "Clinical Pathways: New Patient-Centered Organizational and Management Models" funded by MIUR (Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research) under the national program "FIRB - Futuro e Ricerca 2008" coordinated by Prof. Elena Tànfani.
